Termite inspections & barriers
The New England has plenty of timber-framed housing, and termites treat it as a food source. We inspect properly, report in detail, and install systems built to the Australian Standard.
Why termites matter up here
Quick answer: Termite inspections & barriers with BFYB is quoted for your property, with the price agreed up front and no hidden fees. We've served Armidale and the New England for over 15 years.
Termite damage isn't covered by standard home insurance, and it does its work out of sight — inside wall frames, under flooring, behind skirting. By the time damage is visible from the living room, the repair bill is usually substantial.
A great many homes across Armidale, Uralla and Walcha are timber-framed, and plenty of the older ones have subfloor conditions that suit termites well. An annual inspection is the cheapest insurance available against a repair bill that routinely runs into tens of thousands.

Due for a termite inspection?
Annual inspections are the cheapest protection there is against a repair bill insurance won't cover.

How often should I get an inspection?
Annually for most homes in this region. If your property has had activity before, or sits on a block with heavy timber or moisture issues, every six months is the safer interval.
Does home insurance cover termite damage?
Almost never. Standard policies exclude it, which is exactly why regular inspections matter — prevention is the only real cover available.
What's the difference between a barrier and a baiting system?
A barrier treats the soil around the building so termites can't get through untreated. A baiting system draws them into monitored stations and eliminates the colony. Which suits your property depends on its construction and surrounds — we'll explain both.
Will I get a written report?
Yes — a detailed digital report with photographs, findings and recommendations, emailed to you. It's also what a bank or conveyancer will want to see on a purchase.
